专辑简介：

由钢琴家鲍布．詹姆斯提携的萨克斯风手Kirk Whalum，不仅在爵士界崭露头角，帮流行艺人吹奏也不乏实例，其中惠妮．休斯顿在电影【终极保鏢】插曲”I Will Always Love You”，应是其中大眾最熟悉的。

1958 年出生在曼菲斯的Kirk Whalum，从父亲的教堂唱诗班中伴奏出身，但小时候他听的多是摇滚乐，像皇后合唱团和节奏蓝调像Chaka Khan、Isley Brothers…

由於曼菲斯地处多方音乐的交会区，所以Whalum 曾尝试不同风格：福音、节奏蓝调到三角洲蓝调，最后才选择爵士。

Kirk 不但在电影”终极保鏢”中有令人难以忘怀的动人独奏以外，在其他的专辑当中也可以听到他的声音。如Michael Card 的”Scribbling in the Sand” ，Phil Keggy 的”In The Quiet Hours” 当中也有令人惊艳的表现。
