Dave Koz藉着他愉悦又欢乐欣喜的音乐，再次呈现出个人全新第五张的专辑《The Dance》，展开新的音乐扉页。
经过两年的准备，戴夫·考兹终于发行他个人最新的第五张专辑─《The Dance舞》。在这张最新专辑中，Dave Koz将Jeff Lorber、Carl Sturken、Evan Rogers及弟弟Jeff等，十年前合作/制作过第一张个人专辑的工作伙伴再度聚集起来，并将自己放逐在许多流行节奏蓝调、福音与SmoothJazz的伟大表演者之中。 在亚洲版中，特别加入由那英演唱过的《征服》，并重新诠释戴夫·考兹对音乐的感情，尤如进入一种成人世界的音乐爱情故事。且为了要和全球不同地区的乐迷有更亲密的接触，他首次尝试为不同的地区特别演奏一首作品。所以，他非常希望能将这首在华人地区造成轰动的歌曲，在深情浓重的萨克斯乐音搭配下，做一个最完美的呈现，当成是给全亚洲的一份献礼。次由巨星Luther Vandross负责担纲歌曲人声部分的，是首带有摇摆复古风味的放克嘻哈曲式歌曲《Can’t Let You Go》(The Sha La Song)。另外，现代R&B/Hip-Hop音乐界的巨星Montell Jordan参与制作并重唱1984年由乔治·迈克尔在威猛乐队(Wham)时代所发行的经典歌曲《Careless Whisper》(无心快语)。而数度获得格莱美奖的福音乐队Take 6中的Mervyn Warren与David Thomas，则重唱了灵魂乐的经典乐曲《I’ll Be There》，让整张专辑的音乐性更加地丰富。此外，带有拉丁风情的轻松摇摆小品《You Are Me, I Am You》，则是表现一段由Smooth Jazz乐界的吉它名家Marc Antoine所担纲的佛拉明哥吉它独奏。在另一首展现不同吉它风味的《The Bright Side》中，由著名的Jonathan Butler一显身手，此曲增添许多趣味和戏谑的风味。 专辑的其他歌曲同样也令人充满惊喜和期待。由Dave与Jeff Lorber共同谱写的首支单曲《I’m Waiting For You》、复古的灵魂乐曲《Together Again》、为纪念其已故父亲Norman而创作的《Right By Your Side》、揉合50种萨克斯演奏及由福音乐界的超级巨星BeBe Winans献声的歌曲《Cuban Highway》与超级作曲家、制作人Glen Ballard所担任制作的专辑同名曲《The Dance》(曾是美国的乡村歌王葛斯·布鲁克斯的招牌畅销曲)等

Aside from reuniting him with some of the producers who worked on his debut ten years earlier - Jeff Lorber, Carl Sturken, Evan Rogers and his brother Jeff - The Dance is a true testament to the art of collaboration. The album remains a testimony to Dave’s enduring philosophy; “The loneliest thing in the world is creating music by myself in a room.” With The Dance, he surrounds himself with some of pop, R&B, gospel and smooth jazz’s greatest performers, who also happen to be personal heroes, and the result is a compelling and innovative work that remains one of Dave’s best recordings.
